Where is our Childlike attitude of Faith and Trust?
Friday 11 April 25 Recap
As we gathered: it was so good to see all the usual faces and smiles present! We had another two requests to join this week, but we didn’t see them and perhaps we will see them next week.
We prayed: we invited Jesus to lead our group as we celebrate our relationship with Him and the way He keeps us operating out of the fruit of His spirit.
Our first testimony: while at church the message was on the unexpected, and unexpectedly, someone they knew that normally attends a different church, sat next to her. This boxed her in a bit, so she ended up staying longer than usual, even past the baptisms. It turns out one of her former students had just been baptized and took time to go over and talk with her. He told her how much she meant to him because he didn’t really have a mother, and he even went so far as to change his last name to her last name! That’s how much of an impact she made in his life! She had no idea because that was one of the rougher classes she had taught, and she was thinking she didn’t give the best of herself to it! Just goes to show that our perspective lacks the fullness of God‘s reality! His way and vision are different from ours. What a set up and blessing God managed that day! Co-inky-dink? 😉
Next testimony: This time in her life, she was in a deep valley and looking for new employment, the money was tight. She’d been in prayer about it and in the night her phone went off and she read the scripture and sensed the Lord saying “everything is OK, I have a surprise for you, trust me! “. It was profound and she wondered how her phone went off! Then, when she went to check her mail, there was a check there! A real check with a large amount on it! Oh Lord! She couldn’t believe her eyes! The Lord is so good! Loving, kind, wonderful, and at the right time! The Lord said he was to work a few things in her and she is just going to have to trust him! And she got a new position too! 😉
Another testimony: Her granddaughter, growing in the things of God on her lunch break went to go get gas. She had a sensing that she should stay there and linger a while. So, she did. Then there was a lady with two kids in the car who pulled up and asked if she could have some money for gas? The lady explained she had just moved to the area. So, she put $10 of gas in this lady’s car! How good is it to know that you are being used by God to be a real helps and blessing to others in Jesus’ Name! She also shared about marriages that are happening in the same month! And she will be visiting a friend in Guatemala soon. God is certainly on the move! 😉
We discussed Rick Joyner’s “The Final Quest (trilogy)” and talked about faith and tribulation. Our sister said her poetry in the past few years had a lot to do with spiritual warfare – to overcome it requires to not love your life even unto death! Many people seem to be uncomfortable with the battle imagery! So, she relates well with Rick Joyner and his experiences and visions, a must read! Although it came out 30 years ago, Tamara remembers it helped her in her faith walk!
We talked about different ways we find ourselves functioning outside of the fruit of the Holy Spirit and it’s not always easy to catch it right away because sometimes it happens gradually and subtly.
Another testimony: about his little sister – her husband is not a believer and has a two-year-old son in the bay area of California. She is coming to terms as a Christian, and he is seeing changes in her for the better! God is moving in the whole family but slowly. We are praying for mother, father, and their two-year-old son.
Another testimony: about an out-of-body (OOB) experience. As a new Christian and in the middle of the day while landscaping, she was suddenly standing on a sea of glass in pure light. She was in three parts: spirit, heart and brain. On the floor to the right side, her brain, and about midsection on the left side, her heart. The part she calls “me” (spirit?), was in the middle. A very Holy place where you had to bow in order to sustain your existence there. However, bowing without a body is very difficult! She was given a life review and after she asked, she was told she did pretty good. There were many more details and after the whole event, she found herself back in her body, realizing that she had an opportunity to do even better! Praise God!
We discussed why there aren’t more testimonies of these experiences within the mainstream Christianity? And how many Christian children have vivid dreams that seem to vanish after so many years. Why do we seem to grow out of these experiences? And what happened to faith as a child?
Another testimony: of being with The Father, even before she was saved! She was a foster child raised by “educated people“. They believed there was no God! One day as they were arguing over the issue she stood up at an adult table, eight years old and declared “there is a God, and I believe every word of the Bible!” And she didn’t even know what a Bible was at that time. lol! Out of the mouth of babes, praise God! It was as if the Lord stopped them from talking! Even after she was saved, she didn’t feel very different because she had always felt His presence. There must’ve been someone somewhere, who prayed that beautiful gift for her! Not really ever having a mother or a father, The Lord was always there with her!
We closed in prayer: we thanked the Lord for all the testimonies in celebration of his active daily presence in our lives. For all the giftings that He continues to cultivate in us as we look forward to His return on that beautiful white horse! That He would help us to help Him get everyone on the ark! And He would renew our childlike faith, and we’d get lost in His love! We thanked Him for these times that we could meet and share together, to remain God reliant! We prayed the Holy Spirit’s Truth would continue to guide and direct us. We prayed for seeds that have been planted, the oil and the lamp to those we prayed for. There seems to be “The One “, in every family the Lord pours through unto salvation. We prayed for more godly men in the world! And may the Spirit of the Lord, be upon all of us this week in Jesus Name amen!
Blessings!
Tamara
*co-inky-dink 😉 is our way of saying there are no coincidences with God! Lol!
